General Information

Fond du Lac is a Denesųłiné (Dene) First Nation located to the far north of Prince Albert, Saskatchewan. They are signatories to Treaty 8, which the group signed in 1899. At this time, Fond du Lac and Black Lake First Nations were a single group called Maurice Piché, however, the two split into separate nations in 1949. As of 2022, Fond du Lac Dene Nation has a registered population of 2,209.
