News Release - British Columbia Children and Youth in Care at Risk of Sexualized Violence – RCY Report

This short article highlights the risk of sexual violence that children, specifically Indigenous girls, face in foster and youth care systems in British Columbia. The report found that Indigenous girls were nearly twice as likely to be victims of sexual violence in foster care, and that reports of the sexual violence are often delayed or not reported altogether.
