Anne Carrière-Acco Interview

Anne Carrière-Acco was born in Cumberland House, daughter of Pierre Carrière and Agnes McKenzie. She describes the geographical, cultural (e.g. Swampy Cree), and linguistic characteristics of her community. Her humanistic, classical, and Catholic education influenced her art, prose, and poetry. She states that her community was very active in reading the classics. Literature and art are "places of encounter and confrontation, pleasure or struggle, resistance to settler colonialism.'
