Thunderchild First Nation 1908 Surrender

From the publication:

"The Thunderchild First Nation live in North Battleford, Saskatchewan. On October 2, 2003, a settlement agreement was reached between the Thunderchild First Nation and the Government of Canada. The specific claim is based on events that took place during the 1908 surrenders of Indian Reserves (IR), 115,115A, 112A. The reserves were located on both sides of the North Saskatchewan River and North Battleford.

Specific Land Claims Research Centre

"The Specific Claims Research Centre (SCRC) is a research organization established to assist First Nations in researching and submitting their specific claims. The SCRC receives funding from the Government of Canada to pay for research and legal costs related to specific claims.

The SCRC is not about politics. Our goal is to ensure that First Nations' specific claims are fully researched, written, and submitted in a timely and cost-effective manner.

Indian Affairs Record Group 10 (RG10) Inventory

"The records found in RG 10 contain the historical records relating to Indian Affairs created by the Department of Indian Affairs and Northern Development and its predecessors. They include files, correspondence, letters, and transcripts on all aspects of Indian administration for both headquarters and the field offices. Among the activities of the Indian Affairs Program of the Department of Indian Affairs and Northern Development are the management of Indian reserves and lands, trust funds, education, and agriculture.
