All the spellings come from his reference." ------------- Samuel Buffalo recounts a story he calls "Tioti Owihduhe," in which he retells the displacement and migration of the Dakota from the Northern United States into Saskatchewan and Mantioba due to the increasing presence of settlers, famine, disease, warfare, and violence perpetrated by the United States military. Additionally, Buffalo discusses the societal organization and life before the presence of settlers. Notably, Samuel Buffalo talks about the experiences of his grandfather Chief Whitecap and the acquisition of a reserve, the Whitecap Dakota First Nation south of Saskatoon.
