Joan Stanley Interview

Abstract

Joan Stanley was a research worker with the Metis Society of Saskatchewan. Stanley shares her experiences growing up in a settler community and how she was subjected to racism and mistreatment for being Metis. Stanley also talks about the the influence and imposition of the Catholic church amongst Metis communities. Stanley shares her experiences at school, the treatment of teachers, and racism she faced from other students. Stanley talks about her work through the Metis Society and the struggles she sees people face in her outreach.
