Robert J. Deverell Interview

Abstract

Robert J. Deverell was interviewed in Saskatoon. He was involved in politics with Jim Brady and Malcolm Norris. Robert recounts and compares their political, social, and cultural interests in the cold war era. Brady had wanted to hire lawyers to help First Nations and Métis people in northern Saskatchewan. In the mid 1950s, after a decade of CCF’s government, the programs for northern development started to weaken. Robert recalls the last period of Norris’ engagement with the CCF. ------------ Keywords: Elections, Legal, Government Funding, Provincial Governance
