Horace Taylor Interview

Abstract

Horace Taylor talks generally about his life around Burleigh and Curve Lake. He discusses fishing and the types of fish in the lake, including Indigenous species and introduced species (muskies and rock bass). As well, he recalls the hunting, trapping, and berry picking him and his family spent during the spring and summer. He talks about the many years of experience in canoeing and guiding around Burleigh. Horace fought in the First and Second World Wars at the age of 18, and again on September 20, 1945. He briefly talks about teaching children Ojibwe (spelled Ojibway in the interview).
